| The
2008 season of Afternoon Teas has now begun and tea, coffee and
homemade cakes are served in the church hall each Tuesday from 2.00 -
4.15 pm. The Afternoon Teas team offer refeshment and hospitality
and funds are raised for charities and the parish. Coffee
Mornings are held on Wednesdays. We are pleased to report a very successful summer season of Afternoon Teas in 2007, which ran every Tuesday from May until the end of September. During this period, additional afternoon teas and coffee mornings were held in support of the parish and various organisations including: £208.51 for Christian Aid, £327.55 for the Bible Society, £237.56 for the Guillain Barre Charity and £140.02 for the LOST Appeal in Uganda. This brings a total of £2,000.00 raised by our parish this year for the Uganda project, we are looking forward to an update on the building from representatives of the diocese who are currently on an inspection visit. We would like to thank all the parishioners, friends and visitors who have encouraged and supported us, especially those people who have served the parish in previous afternoon teas and coffee mornings. It was so good to see you enjoying the fellowship that is at the heart of Holy Trinity’s hospitality ministry. We are hugely grateful to all our wonderful hardworking team and, to the people who made cakes and baked for us, we offer our sincere thanks. Our customers really appreciate these homemade cakes and were disappointed when their particular favourite had sold out. On our most busy weeks we did actually sell all our produce before closing time. We marked the end of the season with a luncheon party for all the helpers and home bakers at the St. George's Hotel.
