The next service of Exploring Worship will be on Trinity Sunday, 18
May. This is Holy Trinity's Patronal Festival and the theme will
be "Praise to the Trinity: God in three Persons, blessed Trinity".
Last month's service was on Sunday 13
April 2008
with the theme "Spring Prayer and Praise": "Behold, I am making
everything new" (Rev 21, 5).

Each
Exploring Worship service
has a different theme and is prepared and led by a team from the
congregation. For example, the service in
March 2007 was led by Trygs
Youth Group. It forcibly made the link
between setting ourselves right with God and setting the world to
rights so that all people can enjoy a useful and fulfilling life, as
God intends. During Fair Trade fortnight, one focus for our
thoughts was the way each one of us chooses to spend our money, and our
willingness to spend that bit extra buying fairly-traded goods.
Here are some of the things the young people suggested we might pray
for:

|
coffee
growers tea
planters
cotton pickers
banana workers craft
workers child labourers
factory workers
mine workers
fishermen
those in prison better
better health and safety
unfair discrimination
displaced people
rebel forces
people suffering famine and hunger
those without
sanitation
those afflicted by conflict
deforestation
people without access to education
countries burdened with
debt
homeless people
endangered habitats
people who cannot obtain justice
people affected by drought or
flood
unfair trade
victims of natural disasters
people who are persecuted
children who have lost their parents
parents who have lost their children |
We ask God to help us to love
these people and that, by the power
of the Holy Spirit, we might find ways to help make their lives better.
The services are held in the
church hall at 6.00 pm on, usually, the second
Sunday in each month and music practices are held on Friday
evenings. For further information, please contact the
